The hut warden's thick German accent emerged from the darkness before he did. "It is not good." In the distance, the search party headlamps were now visible as the group started its return down the mountain track. "Three short, three long, three short. S.O.S. Save our souls." He strode for the radio in his office.

that sounds super fun.
glad to know you are alive.
and also where you at least occasionally post.
...casual posting is i think what the kids are calling it these days.
Warbucks found himself mesmerized by the dancing headlamps of the search party on the mountainside, hardly registering the hut warden's search update over the radio. The lights reminded him of his first Christmas with Annie, 15 years ago, when she twirled with delight in the soft glow of the Christmas lights in his manor, bringing a warmth absent from his home for too many years.
Under his influence and guidance, Annie had developed a fearless and independent spirit that Warbucks found both refreshing and maddening. He had tried to dissuade her from taking this dangerous trip into the mountains, even though he knew he had no chance of changing her mind. Even now, as he brought to bear resources that were beyond even the wildest imaginings of most men, he knew he would give them all up in a heartbeat in order to have Annie back.
Although he did not hear the hut warden return, Warbucks suddenly noticed the stocky man standing quietly beside him. "We will find her, Mr. Warbucks" the warden stated simply, but with a cold determination. "This I promise you".
heart warming. the suspense is killing me. is she alright? oh god, tell me she's okay.
I have no idea. John?
Steve, you started the story - I just carried it a bit further. I'm thinking this is more of a 'participa-story' thing. Someone else must provide the next installment...
